Prostrate, succulent shrub, 0.02-0.3 m high, distinguished by the clavate leaves and generally rounded keel. Fl. pink-purple-violet, Jan to Feb or May or Aug to Dec. Sand, loam, clay. Coastal dunes, saline areas inland, samphire flats.
