Scientific Description

Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, not continuous with stem, 20-65 mm long, 2-4 mm wide, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Pedicel present, 8-9 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent, 2 mm long, hairy, not striate. Calyx 10-10.5 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 13-15.5 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 12-15 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 12-14.5 mm long, not auriculate, keel 12-14.5 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short), 13-14 mm long. Ovary sessile or subsessile, glabrous; style 14.5-16.5 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, beaked. Flowers in June, July and August. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Geraldton Sandplains and Avon Wheatbelt IBRA regions.
