Erect, multi-stemmed shrub, ca 0.5 m high. Fl. red & orange, Aug. Sand, stony loam. Hills.
Scientific Description
Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, opposite, continuous with stem, 30-40 mm long, 6-15 mm wide, glabrous, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules apparently absent even from the youngest leaves. Pedicel present, 5-6 mm long, glabrous. Bracteoles absent. Calyx 3.5-5 mm long, not accrescent, glabrous, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 8.5-10 mm long, multicoloured, mostly yellow or orange, with some yellow or orange spots, streaks or blotches; claws present; standard 7-7.4 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 6-6.5 mm long, not auriculate, keel 5.5-6.5 mm long, beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 0.2-0.3 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments free (or united at the very base), 5-6 mm long. Ovary sessile or subsessile, glabrous; style 5.5-7.5 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, beaked. Flowers in August. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Jarrah Forest and Esperance IBRA regions.
