Scientific Description

Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems flattened, spiny at least in part, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, continuous with stem, 10-25 mm long, 0.5-1.2 mm wide, glabrous, terete; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules apparently absent even from the youngest leaves. Pedicel present, 0.5(-3.5) mm long, glabrous. Bracteoles absent. Calyx 3.8-4.5 mm long, not accrescent, glabrous, ribbed; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 7.5-9.3 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 6-7.5 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 6.7-7.5 mm long, not auriculate, keel 6.8-8 mm long, beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 0.5-0.8 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments free (or united at the very base), 4-7 mm long. Ovary sessile or subsessile, glabrous; style 6.5-9 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, beaked. Flowers in January, February, March, April, June, October, November and December. Occurs in the Eremaean and South-West Botanical Province, in the Great Victorian Desert, Coolgardie, Avon Wheatbelt and Mallee IBRA regions.
