Prostrate or scrambling perennial, herb or climber. Fl. blue-purple, Mar or Jun. Sand or sandy loam. Flats.
Scientific Description
Twining or climbing plants, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, continuous with stem, 25-125 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet present, stalked; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present but early deciduous ( only visible on youngest leaves ), 3-4 mm long, without glands, ribless. Pedicel present, 1-1.2 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent. Calyx 4-4.5 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 6-7 mm long, multicoloured, mostly purple or blue, with some purple or blue spots, streaks or blotches; claws absent; standard 5.5-6.5 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 4.5-5 mm long, not auriculate, keel 4.5-5 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath with one free stamen, 3-4 mm long. Ovary stipitate, glabrous; style 3.8-4 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 15-20 mm long, 3-4 mm wide, sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, hairy, with simple hairs, not beaked. Flowers in March and June. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Northern Kimberley, Victoria Bonaparte and Central Kimberley IBRA regions.
