Slender, erect or ascending shrub, 0.2-1 m high. Fl. yellow, Sep to Dec or Jan. Sand, laterite. Swampy areas, river banks, ridges.

Scientific Description

Prostrate,spreading or scrambling, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, opposite or whorled, not continuous with stem, 8-20 mm long, 0.7-1.7 mm wide, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins or flat with recurved margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves, 2-3 mm long, without glands, ribless. Pedicel present, 3-5 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent. Calyx 9-13 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 11-14 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 13-14 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 9-13 mm long, not auriculate, keel 10.2-11.5 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, hairy at least in part. Stamens ten; anthers 2-2.2 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments free (or united at the very base), 6-8 mm long. Ovary sessile or subsessile, glabrous; style 6.8-7.5 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, not beaked. Flowers in September, October, November and December. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Jarrah Forest, Warren, Esperance and Swan Coastal Plain IBRA regions.
