Prostrate or low spreading shrub, 0.05-0.4 m high. Fl. yellow, Aug to Nov. Lateritic gravelly soils, granitic soils.

Scientific Description

Twining or climbing plants, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, spiny at least in part, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, not continuous with stem, 10-25 mm long, glabrous, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, palmately arranged, terminal leaflet present, sessile; pustules or glands absent. Stipules apparently absent even from the youngest leaves, 2.3-3 mm long, without glands, ribless. Pedicel present, 10-12.7 mm long, glabrous. Bracteoles present and persistent. Calyx 5.5-8 mm long, not accrescent, glabrous, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 7-11 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 8-10 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 6.5-8 mm long, not auriculate, keel 6-7 mm long, not beaked, auriculate or not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 0.6-0.8 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments free (or united at the very base), 3.2-6.7 mm long. Ovary stipitate or sessile or subsessile, glabrous; style 5.5-7.5 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 10 mm long, 5-10 mm wide, sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, glabrous, not beaked. Flowers in August, September, October and November. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Geraldton Sandplains, Avon Wheatbelt, Jarrah Forest, Mallee, Warren, Esperance and Swan Coastal Plain IBRA regions.
