Prostrate perennial herb to 8 cm high, Stems terete, ribbed, sparsely hairy; cauline leaves narrowly elliptical; obovate to oblanceolate, 5−30 mm long, 2−7 mm wide, glabrous to sparsely hairy. Inflorescences ovoid to shortly cylindrical, 20−37 mm long, 22−28 mm wide; bracts narrowly ovate, 5.3−7.5 mm long; bracteoles broadly ovate to obovate, 5.4−6.3 mm long; outer tepals 10−14 mm long; inner tepals 10.5−13.5; staminal cup 2.5−3 mm long, glabrous, fertile stamens 2, staminodes 3; ovary glabrous; style 3.5−5.1 mm long. Seed brown, slightly glossy, to 1.8 mm long.
