Scientific Description

Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, not continuous with stem, 12-25 mm long, 1-2.5 mm wide, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins or strongly recurved, appearing terete but with one or two grooves below; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves, 1.4-1.6 mm long, without glands, ribless. Pedicel absent (flowers sessile). Bracteoles present and persistent, 2.3-4.5 mm long, hairy, not striate. Calyx 5.5-7.5 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 13.5-16 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 12-13 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 10.5-11.2 mm long, not auriculate, keel 10.5-11 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 0.8 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments free (or united at the very base), 7-8.5 mm long. Ovary sessile or subsessile, hairy or glandular; style 11-11.5 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, not beaked. Flowers in October and November. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Avon Wheatbelt and Jarrah Forest IBRA regions. Conservation Code Threatened (T).
