Prostrate or climbing perennial, herb or shrub. Fl. pink-violet-purple, Mar to Apr. Lateritic loam, sandy soils.

Scientific Description

Twining or climbing plants. Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, not continuous with stem, 15-45 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves, 3.5-5 mm long, without glands, ribless. Pedicel present, 1-1.5 mm long, hairy. Calyx 2.5-3 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 4-5 mm long, multicoloured, mostly pink or purple, with some pink or purple spots, streaks or blotches. Stamens ten. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 10-11 mm long, 6-7 mm wide, sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, hairy, with simple hairs, beaked. Flowers in March and April. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Northern Kimberley, Victoria Bonaparte and Central Kimberley IBRA regions.
