Scientific Description

Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, hairy. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, not continuous with stem, 20-55 mm long, 3-10 mm wide, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules without glands, ribless. Pedicel present, 4-4.5 mm long, hairy. Calyx 10-11 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 12-14 mm long, multicoloured, mostly red, with some yellow or orange spots, streaks or blotches; claws absent; standard 13-13.5 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 12-12.3 mm long, not auriculate, keel 12.5-13 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments free (or united at the very base). Ovary sessile or subsessile, hairy or glandular; style 13-14 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, not bearded, terete. Flowers in July and August. Occurs in the Eremaean Botanical Province, in the Yalgoo and Murchison IBRA regions.
