Scientific Description

Erect, tree. Stems terete, spiny at least in part, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, not continuous with stem, 120-210 mm long, glabrous, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet present, stalked; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 10-15 mm long, glabrous. Bracteoles present but early deciduous. Calyx 12-15 mm long, not accrescent, glabrous, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 35-40 mm long, uniformly coloured, red; claws absent; standard 32-40 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 16-18 mm long, not auriculate, keel 30-38 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 2.7-3 mm long, 30-41 mm long. Ovary stipitate, hairy or glandular; style 27-37 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, not beaked. Flowers in January. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Swan Coastal Plain IBRA regions.
