Slender, spreading shrub or tree, to 14 m high, bark mottled grey, green, cream, orange, yellow, fissured. Fl. white, Oct to Dec or Feb. Red sand, sandy clay, black peat, sandstone, ironstone, granite. Sandplains behind beaches, dry creek beds, flood plains, cliff tops, ridges, coastal vine thickets, mangrove edges.
