Rhizomatous, perennial, herb or (fern), 0.03-0.6 m high, fronds 1-pinnate, fleshy; veins free; sori elongate, several each side of midrib; indusium present. Fl. May or Nov. White sandy soil over granite. Cliff faces, steep valleys, pockets in granite gneiss.
