Stoloniferous, tussock-forming perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.2-1.3 m high, lemma bi-textured, deeply lobed, panicle linear, usually short and dense. Fl. green-purple, Jan to Dec. Red, lateritic or calcareous sand, loam. Sandplains, red sand dunes.
