Erect perennial, herb, 0.1-0.4 m high, leaves white-tomentose below. Fl. blue/white, Sep to Dec or Jan. Sandy, often gravelly soils. Sandplains, breakaways.
Scientific Description
Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, 30-110 mm long, 5-28 mm wide, Indumentum present, with dense, simple hairs; margins entire or toothed. Bracteoles present, 6-8 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 3-4.5 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with absent hairs. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 0-0.5 mm long, hairy, with dense, simple hairs. Corolla white or blue, 10-12 mm long, auriculate, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with dense, simple hairs, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 3.5-6.5 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 6-9 mm long, wings present on both sides, 0.5-1 mm wide. Anthers connate. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 3-4 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, glabrous; ovules one or two. Flowers in January, September, October, November and December. Occurs in the Yalgoo (YAL), Murchison (MUR), Coolgardie (COO), Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF), Mallee (MAL) and Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA Region(s), of the Eremaean (E) and South West (SW) Botanical Province.
