Erect to prostrate perennial, herb or shrub, 0.1-0.6 m high. Fl. blue/purple, Jul to Nov. Sandy or clay, often gravelly soils. Sandplains, lateritic breakaways.
Scientific Description
Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, 15-80 mm long, 4-20 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins entire. Bracteoles absent. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 3-7 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with dendritic hairs. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 0.4-0.6 mm long, hairy, with dense, dendritic hairs. Corolla blue or purple, 12-18 mm long, auriculate, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with dense, dendritic hairs, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 5-9 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 6-12 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 1-1.5 mm wide on the narrower side, 2-2.7 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers connate. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 4-4.5 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, hairy; ovules one or two. Flowers in July, August, September, October and November. Occurs in the Coolgardie (COO), Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF), Mallee (MAL) and Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA Region(s), of the Eremaean (E) and South West (SW) Botanical Province.
