Erect shrub, to 0.9 m high. Fl. blue-white, Jul or Sep to Nov. Red-brown loam, grey or yellow clay over granite, brown sandy loam over laterite, ironstone gravel. Rocky middle slopes, upper slopes, wetland areas, edges mound springs, river banks, valleys and plains.
Scientific Description
Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, 8-30 mm long, 2-12 mm wide, Indumentum present, with dense or sparse, dendritic hairs; margins entire or toothed. Bracteoles present, 3-8 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 2-8 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with dendritic hairs. Calyx lobes present or absent, Calyx length 0-0.5 mm long, hairy, with dense, simple hairs. Corolla blue or purple, 9-15 mm long, auriculate, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with dense, dendritic hairs, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 3-6.5 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 4.5-7.5 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 1.3-1.8 mm wide on the narrower side, 2-3.3 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers connate. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 2.5-3.5 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, glabrous; ovules one or two. Flowers in June, July, August, September, October and November. Occurs in the Yalgoo (YAL), Great Victoria Desert (GVD), Coolgardie (COO), Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF), Mallee (MAL) and Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA Region(s), of the Eremaean (E) and South West (SW) Botanical Province.
