Ascending to erect, virgate perennial, herb, to 0.4 m high. Fl. yellow, Jul. Red sandy loam. Near salt pans.

Scientific Description

Stems unribbed. Leaves flat, 10-90 mm long, 0.6-1 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins entire. Bracteoles absent. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 5-7 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with simple hairs. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 2.8-3 mm long, hairy, with sparse, simple hairs. Corolla yellow, 12-16 mm long, auriculate, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with sparse, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 3-4 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 5-10 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 1-1.2 mm wide on the narrower side, 0.6-1.5 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 6-8 mm long, hairy; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Flowers in July. Occurs in the Gascoyne (GAS), Gibson Desert (GD) and Great Sandy Desert (GSD) IBRA Region(s), of the Eremaean (E) Botanical Province. Conservation Code: Conservation code Priority Two (P2).
