Rhizomatous, perennial, herb or (fern), 0.015-0.15 m high, aquatic or amphibious; leaflets 4, sporocarp with 2 equal blunt, basal teeth. Fl. Apr to Aug or Dec. Red clay, red loamy sand. In creeks and riverbeds, swamps, salt flats and claypans.
