Reed-like rhizomatous, perennial, herb, 0.35-1.5 m high, Leaves typically absent in mature plants. Scape mostly glabrous, inflorescence axis glandular. Inflorescence racemose. Fl. pink, Oct to Dec or Jan. Clay or sandy peat. Winter-wet swamps, stream gullies. Sedgeland, dense shrubland, Eucalypt forest.
