Tufted annual, grass-like or herb (sedge), 0.02-0.12 m high, stems filiform, 0.1-0.2mm diam, with a solitary spikelet or 2-4 spikelets in a pseudolateral cluster. Fl. green-brown, Aug to Nov or Jan. White or grey clayey sand, clay, brown loam, granite. Margins of swamps, rockpools on granite and other damp habitats.
