Erect shrub, 1-4 m high. Fl. white, Apr to Nov. Sand, gravel. Creek beds, river plains, dunes.
Scientific Description
Prostrate,spreading or scrambling, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands present. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, not continuous with stem, 40-90 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet present, stalked; pustules or glands present. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 2-2.5 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles absent. Calyx 3.5-4.5 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands present. Corolla 7-8 mm long, uniformly coloured, white; claws absent; standard 7-7.5 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 5.5-6.2 mm long, not auriculate, keel 5.5-6.5 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 0.2 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath with one free stamen, 5-5.4 mm long. Ovary stipitate, glabrous; style 5-6 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit indehiscent and splitting into sections (schizocarps), stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, not beaked. Flowers in April, May, June, July, August, September, October and November. Occurs in the Northern, Eremaean and South-West Botanical Province, in the Pilbara, Carnarvon, Gascoyne, Little Sandy Desert, Murchison, Northern Kimberley, Victoria Bonaparte, Central Kimberley, Ord-Victorian-Plain, Dampierland, Coolgardie and Geraldton Sandplains IBRA regions.
