Scientific Description

Erect, herb. Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands present. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, not continuous with stem, 40-50 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet present, stalked; pustules or glands present. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Bracteoles absent. Calyx 5-7.5 mm long, accrescent (enlarged in fruit), hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 9-14 mm long, uniformly coloured, purple; claws present; standard 6-7 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 5.5-6.5 mm long, not auriculate, keel 5-6 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; filaments united in an open sheath with one free stamen. Fruit indehiscent and splitting into sections (schizocarps), stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, not beaked. Flowers in May, June, July, August and September. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Central Kimberley and Ord-Victorian-Plain IBRA regions.
