Upright, spreading annual, herb, 0.3-1.5 m high, peduncles up to 140 mm long; distinguished by hairlike bristles on the fruits. Fl. blue-white, Oct to Nov. Sandy soils. Recently disturbed or burnt sites, woodlands, plains.
