Rampant, aromatic climber, to 8 m high. Fl. yellow, May to Jun. Sand, black soil. Seepage areas, creeks.

Scientific Description

Twining or climbing plants. Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, continuous with stem, 95-130 mm long, hairy, with simple or gland-tipped hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet present, stalked; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 4.5-8.5 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles absent. Calyx 7.5-10.5 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 9-15 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 8(-10) mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 9.5 mm long, not auriculate. Stamens ten; anthers 0.7 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath with one free stamen, 9-9.5 mm long. Ovary sessile or subsessile, glabrous; style 12 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle). Flowers in May and June. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Northern Kimberley IBRA regions.
