Erect, open, spindly, weeping shrub, 1.2-2.1 m high. Fl. yellow, Apr to Jul or Nov. Sandstone or limestone. Rocky gullies, stony watercourses, hillsides, outcrops.

Scientific Description

Prostrate,spreading or scrambling, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, continuous with stem, 35-105 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, pinnately arranged, stalked; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 10-15 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles absent. Calyx 9-14 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 12-20 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws absent; standard 11-18 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 13-15 mm long, auriculate, keel 12-16 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 1-1.2 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath with one free stamen, 10-18.5 mm long. Ovary sessile or subsessile, glabrous; style 16-21 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 25-30 mm long, 6-8 mm wide, sessile or subsessile, constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, hairy, with simple hairs, not beaked. Flowers in April, May, June, July and November. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Central Kimberley and Ord-Victorian-Plain IBRA regions.
