Spreading shrub, 0.2-0.6 m high. Fl. yellow & brown. Sandy soils. Flats.
Scientific Description
Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, not continuous with stem, 6-15 mm long, 0.8-1 mm wide, hairy, with simple hairs, strongly recurved, appearing terete but with one or two grooves below; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules apparently absent even from the youngest leaves. Pedicel present or absent (flowers sessile), 0.5 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present but early deciduous, 3-3.2 mm long, hairy, not striate. Calyx 5-7 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 7.5-10 mm long, multicoloured, mostly yellow or brown, with some yellow or brown spots, streaks or blotches; claws present; standard 7-9.6 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 6.6-7.5 mm long, not auriculate, keel 5-7 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 0.4-0.5 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments free (or united at the very base), 2.6-5 mm long. Ovary sessile or subsessile, hairy or glandular; style 3.5-4.6 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, not bearded, terete. Fruit sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, not beaked. Flowers in February, March, April, May, August and November. Occurs in the Eremaean and South-West Botanical Province, in the Coolgardie, Avon Wheatbelt, Mallee and Esperance IBRA regions.
