Erect, spreading shrub, 0.3-1 m high. Fl. yellow, Aug to Dec. Sandy soils. Slopes, granite outcrops, swampy flats.

Scientific Description

Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate or whorled, not continuous with stem, 8.5-15 mm long, 1.5-4 mm wide, hairy or glabrous, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules apparently absent even from the youngest leaves. Pedicel present, 1-4 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles absent. Calyx 1-2 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 10-11 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 10-10.5 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 7.5-9 mm long, not auriculate, keel 8.5-10 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 0.6-0.7 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments free (or united at the very base), 5-8 mm long. Ovary hairy or glandular; style 7-9 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, not beaked. Flowers in September, October, November and December. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Jarrah Forest, Warren and Esperance IBRA regions.
