Low shrub, 0.15-0.6 m high. Fl. yellow/orange, Oct to Dec or Jan. Sand, gravel. Flats, granite hills.
Scientific Description
Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, not continuous with stem, 8-11 mm long, 1.2-2.5 mm wide, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules apparently absent even from the youngest leaves. Pedicel present, 1.5-2.2 mm long, glabrous. Bracteoles present and persistent. Calyx 7-12.5 mm long, not accrescent, glabrous, ribbed; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 11-14.5 mm long, multicoloured, mostly yellow or orange, with some yellow or orange spots, streaks or blotches; claws present; standard 9.5-13 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 7-9 mm long, not auriculate, keel 7.5-10 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, hairy at least in part. Stamens ten; anthers 0.3-0.4 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments free (or united at the very base), 4-5.3 mm long. Ovary stipitate, hairy or glandular; style 8-10 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, bearded (with a tuft of hairs at apex), terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, not beaked. Flowers in January, October, November and December. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Jarrah Forest, Warren and Esperance IBRA regions.
