Erect annual or perennial, herb, to 1 m high. Fl. yellow, Dec or Jan to Sep. Red sandy loam and clay, black silt, basalt, sandstone, limestone. Hillsides, valley floors, edge of vine thicket.
Scientific Description
Erect, herb. Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, not continuous with stem, 10-38 mm long, 4-7 mm wide, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 2.6-3 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent. Calyx 7-7.5 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 9-10 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 5-6 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 4.5-5 mm long, not auriculate, keel 5-6.5 mm long, beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath, 3-6.5 mm long. Ovary stipitate, glabrous; style 7-8 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, not beaked. Flowers in January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September and December. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Northern Kimberley, Victoria Bonaparte, Central Kimberley, Ord-Victorian-Plain and Dampierland IBRA regions.
