Interactive Key Help

To run Interactive Key software in FloraBase, you may need to install some extra software. Interactive Keys give you access to an an expert at your finger tips. The tools they have written help you to identify plants, fungi and algae in FloraBase. The tutorials below may also be handy to help explain how the software works.

After installing the software (below), visit a page that allows you to download a key and click the link. The software should be started automatically by your browser.

DELTA System

I’ve installed the software, take me to the keys!

Some keys require that you install the DELTA System software. Two projects provide software that runs these keys.

All systems (Open DELTA)
Download the Open DELTA software from the home page
Download the version appropriate for your operating system. Requires Java to be provided, either within the installer, or by separate install.
Unless there are reasons to do so, you should choose this software over the older CSIRO DELTA project.
This software is the Atlas of Living Australia-funded port of the DELTA software to Java known as Open DELTA. It is a rewrite of the CSIRO DELTA software (below) enabling it to be used on any operating system that runs Java.
Windows-only (CSIRO DELTA)
Download the CSIRO DELTA software from the home page
This software requires Windows (from 95 through to XP) although there are ways to install it on later versions. Instructions on installing this software on later and earlier versions of Windows are available from the install page.
Download the file intk32.exe to your hard drive, double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
Following installation, to run Intkey, select Start > Programs > Delta > Intkey from the Start menu.

Lucid

Some keys will attempt to automatically start a Lucid key. The Lucid keys we provide need Java to be installed. If that is already installed, you will be able to run the key.
